Melanotan 2 Balanced and Total Body Tan

It’s Summer Time, and that means it’s time to get your tan on! While most knowledgeable people strive to achieve a balanced total body tan, consideration into planning your tan produces the most likely effect of symmetry. For the purpose of research – and to share my decades worth of personal knowledge in the tanning industry, let’s take a look at some case study photographs of individuals pursuing the perfect tan and how Melanotan 2 produces balanced tanning efforts.

In this picture you will notice the delineated line on the man’s upper arm where the skin is not as dark as the lower arm, however his legs and upper arm show some color. It’s possible he was making efforts to correct this tan line by getting exposure in more areas. His effort did result in darkening the newly exposed areas with UV rays, however all the exposed areas got darker in the already tanned forearms.  Because he was getting a surface tan from UV rays, he was tanning only the surface layer of skin. Over the next 4 to 21 days the color developed on the top layer of skin will not spread but instead slough off. Ultimately the more damaged surface layer of skin will slough off at a faster rate than the surface layer of skin that has not been overexposed and damaged.

This example is a good study of time, effort, tanning lotions and tanning bed usage to achieve a close to balanced tan result without using Melanotan 2. Much expense and time must be continuously invested on a regular basis to maintain color, however this method leaves wide areas down both sides of the body where exposed skin does not receive direct tanning rays and thereby do not tan.  The areas of the body that are supporting weight when lying on Plexiglas will be noticeably lighter…areas such as shoulder blades and tail bone.  This is due to pressure on those areas hindering oxygen flow. This is one of the reasons we prefer stand up units like Hex. An additional concern with standard beds is sanitation.  Quaternary disinfectants used to clean tanning units between sessions are highly toxic.

Melanotan 2

Because Melanotan 2 generates more melanin at the bottom level of the dermis, the color is developed deeper allowing the color to spread as it works its way to the top layer creating a smooth even color that will last about four months as it slowly fades away once you discontinue use.  All that is required is a minimal amount of UVB to kickstart your body’s melanocytes into production. Once an appreciable color is achieved, you should be able to stay out in the sun a little longer and get darker instead of burning.  Using an SPF 50 sunscreen should always be a part of your outdoor activities. This protects the upper layers of the skin and lessens the chances of skin cancer and aging and it shouldn’t affect your color development. Shaving and exfoliating shouldn’t affect your melanotan 2 tan either as you have several colored layers moving towards the top.

Given these considerations, Melanotan 2 is seemingly a more cost effective way at achieving a balanced tan in a shorter amount of time than traditional tanning.
