About six years ago I began researching Melanotan 2 (MTII) and soon after began using it to achieve a beautiful tan and my skin has gotten much healthier with far less exposure to the sun. I was never satisfied with the look of any other sunless tanning methods.
I keep my tan pretty much year round with little effort and far less expense compared to spray tanning, bronzers, tanning beds or other sunless tanning methods. Research has shown that MTII stimulates the melanocytes in the lower layers of the dermis and you tan from the bottom of the dermis up to the epidermis. It’s a true sunless tanning method that acts with you body’s organic development of a tan.
I started tanning in the sun when I was just a youngster because I wanted to be a dark as my older sister. She had dark hair and complexion, I’m blue-eyed and blonde. Later on I felt like it was my job to get a tan every summer which meant hours in the sun with baby oil cooking my skin. I managed to get some color but I am now paying the price for exposure to UV rays. Trying to tan the outer layers of the skin does nothing but cause sunburn, skin damage and later on, wrinkling of the skin.
For years I chased the sun and later tanning beds to keep my color. I always feel better when I’m not lily white. I even owned a very successful tanning salon and spa for 10 years along the way. I sold my salon almost ten years ago and over the last few years I have been making regular visits to the dermatologist to have skin cancers burned off and cut away. So far I’ve been lucky and have had no melanomas, but I’m still not out of the woods on that. I see the doctor often and he keeps a close eye on my dermis.
So if you’re like me and like to keep some color do it the smarter way. Using MTII I get very little exposure to UV rays because I always wear high quality SPF 50 sunscreens like Supergoop Everyday and stay in the shade when outdoors. I always follow up with Sothys After Sun to moisturize my skin. Enjoy the sun but be smart and stay healthy!!
I have some questions. I have a friend who has given me a vial of melatotan 2 – 10mg. How much sterile water do I need to add to this vial?
Do I need to refrigerate after I add the sterile water? How many uses will I get out of the 10mg vial?
